LESSON 05 · RETEST & CLEAR ROOM

A good reaction can still be in a bad location.

After reaction and confirmation, ScribeMoor asks two separate questions: did price return to a meaningful area, and how much structural room exists before the next opposing level?

RETEST

Return to the decision area

A retest is a revisit after something meaningful changed: a reclaim, structure break, displacement move, or support/resistance flip. The retest should relate to that change, not just any random pullback.

HOLD / REJECT

Observe what happens on return

Price may hold the reclaimed area, reject from it, move through it, or stall. Record the actual response instead of assuming the retest must work.

CLEAR ROOM

Measure opposing structure

Measure from the observed decision area toward the next meaningful opposing structural level. That distance is context for the setup, not a forecast of how far price will travel.

VALID VS WEAK RETEST

Not every revisit deserves the same weight.

Stronger observation
  • Reaction or reclaim happened first
  • Structure changed or displacement appeared
  • Price returns to the relevant broken/reclaimed area
  • The retest response is visible and recordable
Weaker observation
  • No prior reaction or structure change
  • Random 1m pullback labeled as a retest
  • Price chops repeatedly through the area
  • The level is selected after the fact to justify the setup

CLEAR ROOM MAP

Entry area → opposing structure

This simplified example shows how room is measured. If the decision area is near 29,500 and the next meaningful opposing level is near 29,524, the observed room is approximately 24 points. That measurement can be compared with the user's saved threshold.

Decision area
29,500
≈ 24 pts structural room
Opposing level
29,524

20+ POINT STUDY THRESHOLD

Use the threshold as a filter to test, not a promise.

For your MNQ/NQ structural framework, ScribeMoor can use 20 points as the default minimum-room reference. The purpose is to separate observations with nearby opposing structure from observations with more space. Later, Framework Learning can compare your own linked historical trades at different room thresholds.

Important: 20 points does not mean price will move 20 points. It only describes the minimum structural space you chose to study.

SEQUENCE CHECK

Keep the order intact.

01LEVEL
02REACTION
03CONFIRMATION
04RETEST
05CLEAR ROOM

A retest without confirmation is not the same observation. Clear room without a meaningful level is just distance. The value comes from keeping each step tied to the sequence.

CHECKPOINTS

Test the retest and room logic.

1. When is a retest meaningful in the ScribeMoor sequence?
2. What does clear room measure?
3. If the next opposing level is very close, what should the observation note?
4. How should the 20+ point MNQ/NQ reference be used?
