Structure shift
Price breaks a meaningful internal swing after the reaction. For a bullish sequence, that can mean breaking a prior lower high. For a bearish sequence, it can mean breaking a prior higher low.
LESSON 04 · CONFIRMATION
ScribeMoor separates the first response at a level from the evidence that follows. Confirmation means the market has done something additional—such as a structure shift, higher low or lower high, 5m directional close, displacement, or reclaim—that supports the reaction.
CORE CONFIRMATION TYPES
Price breaks a meaningful internal swing after the reaction. For a bullish sequence, that can mean breaking a prior lower high. For a bearish sequence, it can mean breaking a prior higher low.
After the initial reaction, price pulls back and forms a higher low for a bullish framework or a lower high for a bearish framework. This can show that the reaction is holding structurally.
The 5m chart closes or expands in the direction supported by the reaction instead of relying only on a fast 1m spike.
Price expands away from the level with stronger candle bodies or directional movement. Displacement can strengthen the case that control shifted after the reaction.
Price trades through a level, returns back through it, and then develops structure on the reclaim side. The reclaim alone is reaction; follow-through helps confirm it.
A meaningful expansion in activity can support the observed move, but ScribeMoor treats it as confluence rather than proof by itself.
REACTION VS CONFIRMATION
Examples: rejection wick, failed push through a level, first reclaim, strong opposite candle, initial bounce.
What it tells you: the level mattered enough to produce a response.
Examples: structure break, HL/LH, 5m close, displacement, follow-through after reclaim.
What it tells you: the reaction now has more supporting evidence behind it.
VISUAL EXAMPLE
In this simplified sequence, price rejects a support area, breaks a prior lower high, then pulls back and forms a higher low. The structure shift and higher low provide more confirmation than the first rejection candle alone.
A SIMPLE 2-BAR CONFIRMATION MODEL
A rejection, reclaim, failed breakout, or decisive response occurs at the structural level.
The next bar supports the response through follow-through, structure break, stronger close, or directional displacement.
